Weddings

“Weddings” stems from a three year project that began with collecting photographs, letters, diaries, archived news report. Then interviewing family members about their parents and grandparents intimates lives. There were contradictions, secrets and surprises which left me to create my own interpretations.

Seven weddings and one that didn't happen. The art works chronicle the personal and private along with larger dramas and tragedies of 20th century Jewish history, with settings ranging from Israel to Europe, to America. Immigration, Zionism, Holocaust.
Joy and fate, failed prospects, strength and frailties.
